Rascal Red and The Possum Posse is a high-energy roots/bluegrass band based out of Austin, TX. Formed in 2002, the band's unique brand of off-beat sardonic Western originals and non-traditional covers has pleased audiences across Texas and as far away as New Jersey.

The band's original song library includes titles such as "A-Cheatin'," "You Ge' E'Married Tomorrow" and "Ethanol" while the band covers songs that don't get much attention from the Bluegrass and Country/Western camps. These include songs by Young MC, Beyonce, Celine Dion, Marvin Gaye, Kelly Clarkson, Bone Thugs N Harmony, R. Kelly and MANY MORE. Rather than cover these songs in the traditional sense, Rascal Red and The Possum Posse creates an interpretation of the song, often mixing it into a medley (one example includes songs by 50 Cent, The Presidents of The United States of America, Alanis Morsette, and Minnie Riperton).

The Posse's song "Substandard Love (At First Sight)" reached the top of the Garageband.com comedy charts, staying at #1 for several weeks (voted on by listeners).
